The decision of what to select on your iPod for a trip is so important, it's still weird to me. The choice can change the mood and feel of your drive very easily And completely. We drive a lot for work and I'm glad I have such a large music selection on my iPod to get me through the long trips. It's almost like you are taking the landscape you are driving through and saying, "What album would this best suit as an album cover." Driving up the Columia River Gorge made me need some Creedence Clearwater Revival. Driving through the flat lands of Eastern Oregon made me want some Modest Mouse. Then getting into Western Montana seeing the big mountains and tall trees accompanied by the slow winding highway, I just felt that The Lumineers fit so perfectly. I have been listening to The Lumineers album everyday on our 20 minute drive to and from the fire here. That haze is always laying low in the draws of the mountains while the sun tries to shine through. At the beginning of the trip, you would have some glow from the fire creeping down the hillsides. Maybe I'm the only one, who knows? Either way music and traveling are a couple of hobbies of mine and I'm glad they mesh so well.
Give it a go next time you have quite a drive ahead of you.
